Spaz Moment of the Day: 10/25/2009

Many of you know me…and you KNOW how graceful I am and how I never EVER spaz out and/or do something stupid…NEVER. *sigh* OK, fine…I spaz out all the time. Most of the time I make myself laugh and I thought, “hey, I laugh at myself a whole lot…maybe I should share it with my readers so they can get a giggle out of it too”. Tucker (my German Short Haired Pointer) and I are equally spaz-tastic…so most of these postings will either be about me or him.

And the moment that you have all been waiting for…
Spaz

My “Spaz Moment of the Day
Everyone in the household is either napping or peacefully watching football. I get up to get some water, and in the process knock over a bunch of stuff on my end table. All of the items start falling and startle Tucker…and when Tucker is ‘scared’ awake, he wakes up barking with the MEANEST bark he can muster up. I’m trying to pick up everything that I so gracefully knocked over, but when Tucker starts barking, it scares the living ‘poo’ out of me so I SCREAM at the top of my lungs and knock over the remaining splash of my water. Tucker of course stares at me like I’m a freak and goes back to napping. I turn bright red and start cleaning up after myself. And yes…that’s right folks; I live with two dogs…so nobody was there to witness this series of events. Good times.

So, I am hoping to make this a blogging trend. If you are interested in writing about your ‘Spaz Moment of the Day', you can grab the icon and link back to this page!

Mantra Monday: 10/19/2009

Mantra Monday

~ Survival ~
I am a fighter…a strong willed, bull headed, stubborn -- fighter. One of my life’s mantras is ‘Never give up and NEVER give in’…if you believe in something make a stand. This has not won me popularity contests in the past; and honestly I don’t care.

*side note, this is one of my favorite characters from the video game Tekken…whenever I would play this game, I was always Nina and I studied her skills and moves and became a very good fighter with her. Yes, please go ahead and laugh…I am that much of a dork*

Over the last few weeks, I have been met with some challenges that I have wanted to keep fighting…but alas, I have no more energy to fight an uphill battle and I have had to give in. This is a VERY uncomfortable feeling for me, I don’t like it one bit. So, going forward…I must tell myself that in order to survive, sometimes you have to give in. I may have lost a few battles, but I am in this to win the war. I will survive and I will remain strong and rise above everything and remain a beautifully strong person.

One of my favorite songs that has helped me through…

Eric’s Birthday Dinner

As a group we try and get together at least once a month to see each other, and last month we met for Eric’s birthday (a month late). I think when you get all of us together we attract so much attention from laughing and talking that EVERYONE wants to be a part of our group. Now that is a group of friends that you have to keep! We had a great time and of course Eric had to show off his new tattoo! Here are some pics from that night…

Me headed out to the restaurant…

Mantra Monday

~ Stay on Track ~

There are LOTS of things going on in my life right now and I tend to forget certain habits when I get stressed out. This week, I am going to focus on staying on track with my food journal. I have been TERRIBLE at tracking what I am eating, and I think that I have been bad because I am not eating healthy. So, this week I am really going to focus on tracking ALL of my food and beverages via my food journal. As inspired by one of my favorite food bloggers, Roni Noone…I track all of my food via Twitter. She came up with this awesome system (Tweet, Eat, Post) that will calculate all of your Weight Watchers points for you if you use a Twitter account. Yep, I am THAT geek-tastic. Any who, you can follow my food journal at http://twitter.com/StephaniesFood. And wish me luck with tracking all of my meals!

Have a great week!

Random Dog Post

Yesterday was my sweet Jessy Boo's birthday. She turned 8 years old...she is an amazing dog! She has helped her Momma through lots of good and bad times in my life. I love you Jessy Girl you are the best dog ANYONE could have!

And on another note, I laugh so hard when I watched this commercial for the first time (ya that's right, I snorted). As many of you know, I have another dog, Tucker. He is my INCREDIBLY high maintenance German Short Haired pointer that I have worked so hard to be able to keep. This commercial makes me feel somewhat at ease...it starts off with dog squeakers, which of course gets my dogs attention and you end up seeing these people looking for a German Short Haired pointer. I laughed so hard, because I've been there...doing everything that I can to get Tucker to come to me in the earlier days. They are incredibly independent, stubborn dogs...hmmm remind you of anyone? So enjoy!

Grateful Posting: 10/09/2009

~ Hersey’s Kisses ~

I love chocolate…I’ll admit it; I can’t help it. I always have a collection of Hersey’s kisses on my desk. They are the perfect little chocolate treat for those of us that watch our calories. So today, I am very thankful to have them in my office because I needed them today! Don’t mess with a girl when she has a serious chocolate craving. Even though this is a small and kind of strange item, I am trying to stay positive and be grateful for little things.

Day 2: The weekend of the Stephanie’s

I am a huge supporter of the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation. Every year I sign up to participate in the Race for the Cure, but I never end up going…so I donate the money I just don’t ever participate. My Grandmother is a two time survivor of breast cancer and I am thankful every day that we had the technology to save her life, so I decided that the foundation I was going to continually support was for breast cancer research. Over the last 6 years I have done the Tubbs Romp to Stomp but could never muster up the energy to get up early and participate in the walk downtown. Well this year, Lil’ Steph convinced me! We headed to party city to pick up some ‘pink’ gear to wear that day and set a plan. I met her up in her neck of the woods and we took the RTD into town, it dropped us right at the race it was really cool. We had the pleasure of having her boyfriend, Brad and her Mom come with us! We had a great time! Along the way we ran into some of fellow Jazzercise instructors which was pretty amazing considering there were so many people there! The most amazing part was walking across Colfax and down the I-25 on ramp and up the Auraria Parkway ramp to the Pepsi center. The view of people was amazing! I had so much fun! Here are a few pics from the walk…

After the walk, I headed home to take the pups to my parents house to be puppy-sat while I went to the Broncos game with a friend. And yep, you guessed it…her name is Stephanie too! Huh, you would think I’m a narcissist for surrounding myself with Stephanie’s (and NO they are not just multiple personalities). We will call her ‘High School Steph’. High School Steph invited me out to the game and being a HUGE football fan how could I refuse. And it was a great game! The Broncos did very well, and I will admit it…it was nice to see Tony Romo get sacked by our Defense. I chuckled a little bit each time. So I didn’t take many pictures because I was distracted by the game…but here are a few.

Our view…

Not sure what was happening here…

A little play action…

So as you can see, I had a very productive and fun weekend and I just had to share it with everyone. Things are looking up for me and I wanted to be sure to share with my readers that life can be tough at times, but you must keep moving…good things will happen.

Enjoy your day!
