OMG, I had a FAN-tastic Labor day weekend!!! Back in the beginning of the year I wrote a posting about 10 things that I wanted to accomplish in 2010. On this list I stated that I wanted to hike a 14-er…whew, I had no idea what I was getting into with that!
So I got my lazy butt up at 4:30 AM on Saturday, packed up the car and Tucker and we headed out for our big adventure. I met up with some friends, transferred into a different car and drove up to Bakersville, CO.
Now, like I said earlier…I had no idea what I was in for. We decided to hike Gray’s Peak; apparently this is a 7.5 mile hike with a 3,040 feet incline. Ya, that’s right…3,040 foot incline. YOWZA! We started roughly around 9:00 AM and it took us 8 hours to finish the hike. I burned a total of 3,514 calories during the hike; with a Max Heart rate of 174. That being said, the end result…totally worth it. What an AMAZING feeling and view!

I can’t say that I’ll ever do it again, but I am sure glad that I did it. So thank you to Kristin for asking me to go along, it was totally worth it! And Tucker has been exhausted for the last two days (good boy!). I took a few pictures on my phone, you can check them out below:
Thanks for stopping by!
Awesome Hike Steph. Enjoyed looking at the picks. How long did it take to from bottom to top?
