MANTRA MONDAY: Walk it out

Mantra Monday

~ Walk it out ~

Lots of stress going on in this household! Trying to find a job, family drama, dog drama, etc. I’ve got lots going on…and one thing that has ALWAYS helped me is to take a walk. I’ve been slacking in that department lately. It is so therapeutic for me to turn on my iPod on, gear up the dogs and take a nice long walk around the neighborhood. This is good for me, and it’s good for my pups. So I am going to make it a point this week to try and “Walk it out” more.

MANTRA MONDAY: Customize

Mantra Monday

~ Customize ~

My life lately has been consumed with looking for a job. I am either over qualified or I don’t have enough experience for the jobs that I have applied for. This is extremely frustrating {especially the over qualified part – I know I am over qualified, but I’d still like to take the job!}. So I am dedicating this week to re-writing my resume and cover letters into 3 specific job roles. 1. Training Manager (my ideal job). 2. Instructional Designer. 3. Trainer/Instructor. *sigh* I am bored out of my MIND and I need a job!! So, let’s hope that doing this gets me in the door for interviews.

Grateful Posting: American Idol

~ American Idol ~

Oh ya, I said it…I’m a big time American Idol geek, I can’t help it. I’ve watched the show since the beginning, I love singers. I can not carry a tune, so I am fascinated by folks that can! Season 9 started last night, OH BOY OH BOY. This year, I have decided to run my own American Idol pool, in the past years I have been in other pools…but this time I’m hitting the big leagues and starting my own! And yes, folks…I’m SUPER excited about it. CLICK HERE if you want to find out more about my AI Season 9 Pool.

OK, I will admit that I don’t really like watching the show until the top 24 are picked because I find the people trying out can be really sad or they just want their 15 minutes of fame. I don’t get it. And I am also uber excited that Ellen is a judge, I love Ellen; but I will miss Paula, her whacky antics did make the show more entertaining! So there you have it! My grateful item for the day. ;)

I am calling out to all my blog readers and twitter friends and asking you to message me if you are interested in participating in my American Idol pool, its loads of fun!

Christmas 2009

Wow, I guess I’ve been slacking on this… January 13, 2010 and I still haven’t posted my Christmas pics. Yikes, sorry about that! I had a great Christmas this year with my family. Nice and laid back and the pups were 'of course' the center of attention.

We had a great dinner at Gabriel’s restaurant in Sedalia, CO on Christmas eve…then we headed over to Aunt Kathy’s house for desert and opening presents. I think that was Tucker’s favorite part.

Christmas day we headed over to Grandpa & Grandma’s for breakfast and the making of the Kringle.

What is Kringle…you ask? Kringle making is a tradition in my family; it is a Scandinavian pastry that is AMAZING with your morning coffee. CLICK HERE to see a basic recipe for Kringle…I believe the best part is the heavy cream. Mmmm so good. And ya, it’s NOT going on my cooking blog because it is NOT a healthy item, but it sure is yummy. Anywho, here are some pics from the holiday.

Grateful Posting: Redbox

~ Redbox Movie Rentals ~

OK, so I am slacking in this area of my 10 in 2010 accomplishments list. So, after a conversation with a good friend, he made me realize that I need to get better about these postings. He also made me realize that I have a very unique opportunity right now in my life…I am a single, independent woman that can do whatever she wants. I do not have any responsibilities like kids or a husband, so I can take the time to do the things that I have always wanted to do…with no regrets. That REALLY opened my eyes…instead of thinking that my situation was hindering me, it has blossomed into a world of opportunity. So thanks Z, you are greatly appreciate for knocking some sense into this girl!!

Now, onto my Grateful posting…I love movies, growing up I always went to at least one movie a week with my family and it was always so much fun. My Mom and Dad kept up the tradition, but sadly it has faded for me. So recently, I have started going to see movies again (in the theater) and I want to see at least 2 a month. But for those movies that I don’t catch in the theater, a friend introduced me to Redbox movie rentals! WHY was I never told about this before!??!? $1 per night for a new release, I can check it out online and go pick it up at several convenient locations all over town AND I don’t have to talk to some dorky check out guy about the movie! YES PLEASE!! It’s AWESOME. Now, don’t get me wrong…I still love Netflix, but sometimes you want to be spontaneous and watch a movie right away and Redbox is awesome for that! So, I am grateful for finding Redbox. It ROCKS!

Got any movie recommendations for me?

Spaz Moment of the Day: Movie Chair

Spaz

So, I have told you over and over how incredibly graceful I am…so this story should not surprise you. On Christmas day all the girls in my family headed out to see the movie ‘Nine’. We got our beverages and our popcorn and headed to our seats...once we found the perfect spot we sit down. I hate it when people’s cell phones ring during a movie so I grab my phone to turn it on silent. Not sure WHAT happened but I spazzed out and dropped my phone. I can NOT loose my iCrack (aka iPhone), that thing is my LIFE it has EVERYTHING on it…so I immediately panic. I stand up and lean forward to see if I can blindly find my phone by searching around with my hand (ew ew ew movie theater floors are NASTY!), and as I am reaching down I loose my balance…stick out my arm to brace myself so I don’t fall. As luck would have it, my arm goes RIGHT through the crack between the back of the chair and seat, forcing me to fall forward and hit my head on the back of the chair. ~ MAJOR FAIL ~ I started laughing hysterically, because…come on, REALLY did that just happen? And my family’s reaction…”you OK? Yes, OK good” *sigh* sadly they are way too used to me. So I decided to just sit down and search for my phone…I ended up finding it.

And I am just that spaz-tastic!

Mantra Monday: Clean

Mantra Monday

~ Clean ~

I know, I seem to be a bit obsessed with the reorganization and cleaning concept…but it is really needed in this household. I’ve owned my house since 2003 and it was this adorable two bedroom ranch house that was immaculately clean. Now…not so much; I can’t seem to get the smell of dog pee out of my carpet, my walls are all scuffed up and I want to pull up ALL of my carpeting (hate carpet!). So…my Mantra for this week is to create a cleaning schedule for my house so that it is not overwhelming and I can get back to my clean way of life. How do you manage your cleaning time? Make it a great week!

PS – I vacuumed and bleached my floors today, that is a good step, right?!?!

C. I’m not having any luck with the job search and starting to get frustrated.
D. I’m posting my Mantra ‘MONDAY’ on Thursday.
E. I still have not started reorganizing my house.

This picture says it all…

Grateful Posting: Playful Puppies

~Playful Puppies~

Today, I am grateful for playful puppies; they will always put a smile on my face. I have been watching a friend’s dog for a few days now and she is so full of energy and life…it’s adorable! Tucker has a lot of energy…he always has, but I believe that he has met his match. Here’s a couple quick videos of them playing. They make me laugh so hard. I hope you enjoy it.
