Mantra Monday: Simplify

Mantra Monday

~ Simplify ~

My Mantra for this week is to keep my life simple, do the things that make me happy. Cherish the good moments that I have and not let all of the noise distract me. Often times we get caught up with the hustle and bustle of life and all of a sudden you are in a complicated mess. I have taken steps to simplify my life…and I must continue on this journey. Things don’t need to be complicated, they can be simple. You can take me for who and what I am…no hidden agendas, no games, no lies; I don’t have the energy for that type of bulls*t anymore. I need to refocus and simplify my life. First and foremost are my dogs…they make me happy and I have neglected them. I have been a bad pack leader and have expected them to just behave {and they have not done so}…this is an added stress that I don’t need.
~~ Stephanie – get your lazy butt up and take them for a walk, they need the leadership and bonding time with you, and do we need to remind you of how beneficial it is for you? ~~
So…this week, when things start to get complicated or overwhelming for me I will take the time to make sure that I make it simple so that it is easy to manage.

Romp to Stomp

Romp2Stomp
For the last few years, I have participated in this amazing event to help support Breast Cancer research. The Tubbs Romp to Stomp event takes place on Saturday March 6, 2010 in Frisco, Colorado. It is SUCH a fun event! This year I have decided to raise money for this event, and any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. The Susan G. Komen foundation is something that I am very passionate about. Each year I will try and attend all of the races that are here in Denver.

CLICK HERE to sponsor me for this event!

This is such an amazingly fun event and I am so glad that I have the chance to participate in the fun. Last year, I went with my best friend Stephanie and we had a blast! We are always looking for people to join us for this event you can check out the race info here.

Anything that you can donate would help, and I personally thank you in advance for your generosity.

Mantra Monday: Inner Peace

Mantra Monday

~ Inner Peace ~

OK, life has been pretty rough around here. Emotions have been up and down and my schedule has been all over the board. My body and mind have taken a toll. I’m not going to lie…it has been very tough for this girl to keep her head held high and keep moving, but I have. I have a pretty intense weekend coming up for me that I am looking forward to but also not.

  1. My neighbors of 6 years whom I have become very close to are moving away. This makes me sad, but I am happy for them to start their new life in a state that will make them happy.
  2. My ex is picking up his stuff that will permanently remove him from my life {although necessary, it still hurts--which I hadn’t anticipated}.
  3. Last, but not least, I will be attending an event for an accomplishment in my friends’ life and I am so very proud of him.

So…as you can see I’ve got a lot going on. So my Mantra for this week is to find my inner peace through patience, courage and endurance.

Grateful Posting: Vitamin Water 10

~ Vitamin Water 10 ~

I LOVE Vitamin waters, I am not sure why…but after a work out, it is ALL that I crave. But they have so many calories so it was almost not worth it to drink them after I worked out. Until they came out with the Vitamin Water 10 line…only 10 calories. SCORE!

Back in the day when I worked for a water park, I got heat stroke and became extremely dehydrated. That was one of the WORST feeling. So, ever since then I have been prone to dehydration. Today, I am extremely grateful for Vitamin Waters! Teaching my class tonight was very very difficult for me, I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather and I think my body just finally had it with me and needed to tell me that I was dehydrated. So after two bottles of regular water and 1 Vitamin Water 10, I feel so much better.

NOTE TO SELF: You teach 5-7 Jazzercise classes a week, STAY HYDRATED!!

Mantra Monday: Become the ring leader

Mantra Monday

~ Become a ring leader ~

My life has been a circus lately. Trying to balance family, social life, contract work, Jazzercise, pack leadership, money and my sanity has been a difficult task. So my Mantra for this week is to take my life by the reigns and start to take control!

Unfortunately, my life has been compared to Britney Spears in the past; I’ve had my ups and downs, but I do NOT think that I am Britney’s version of crazy. However, I can relate to the lyrics of her song ‘Circus’. My favorite lyrics from this song…

“There’s only two types of guys out there...one’s that can hang with me, and one’s that are scared.” Yep…sounds about right. LOL

Spaz Moment of the Day: Bluetooth Calls

Spaz

Bluetooth is a new technology to me…I have never used the ear pieces for cell phones because my ears are freakishly small. So I have little to NO experience with Bluetooth. Well when I got Carmen (my new VW Jetta) the stereo unit has Bluetooth capabilities to run your phone calls thru the actual stereo system. So it’s a hands-free way to talk on the phone while you are driving. I know, I know…this is not new to MOST people; but it was new to me.

I was driving home from teaching Jazzercise one night, chatting with my friend Cris and I pulled up to the Taco Bell drive thru for dinner (I know BAD Stephanie!). I told him to hold on while I placed my order, clicked on the ‘MUTE’ button and proceeded to order. Now those of you that know the stereo system in my car…it is VERY loud and since this is a new technology to me, I have NO idea how to turn down a phone call. So…at the TOP of his lungs Cris yells out “YES, I’d like to order a Big Mac”, now remember I’m at Taco Bell. The drive-thru lady scoffs at me and says “Ummm, we don’t serve Big Macs here”. I politely apologize and let the lady know that my friend was just kidding and place my order. As I am about to finish out my order, he starts up again about calling from some clinic and my tests have come back…at this point, I completely spaz out…drop my phone and hit the ‘Hold’ button. It places Cris on hold and starts dialing another friend. SERIOUSLY?!?! So I freak out and hang up on everyone. *phew* that was painful. LOL

I drive up to the window to pay and the drive-thru lady gives me the NASTIEST look and takes my payment with attitude. Then I realized…this is the Taco Bell right next to the high school…they probably get a lot of weird orders. So…lesson has been learned. NOTE TO SELF: When placing a drive-thru order, call your friends back.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a Spaz Moment, so let’s hope more stuff starts happening to me. So, I am hoping to make this a blogging trend. If you are interested in writing about your ‘Spaz Moment of the Day’, you can grab the icon and link back!
