Mantra Monday: Adventure

Mantra Monday

~ Adventure ~

I’ve decided that my Mantra for the month of June is to find some adventure! I have been a shut in for so very long that I have decided that I am going to go out and see this beautiful state of Colorado. I purchased a few new hiking books last summer and I can’t wait to get out there on the trails and start exploring and taking pictures.

The way I see it adventure is not just exploring new hiking trails, but exploring new avenues in my life. Going out to places I’ve never been before, new hair styles, hanging out with new friends and much more.

Holly did such a great job on my hair!! I love it. :-) on Twitpic

June is a great month, and I am going to take advantage of everything that it has to offer!

Mantra Monday: Be a Phoenix

Mantra Monday

~ Be a Phoenix ~

So I’ve been seeing a lot of the commercials for the University of Phoenix lately, where the tag line is ‘I am a Phoenix’. Now this fits me in two ways…first, I went to the University of Phoenix…so technically I am a Phoenix.

Second, I can compare myself to the mythical bird the Phoenix. The mythical creature will burst into flames at the end of its life and from the ashes he will regenerate into a brand new Phoenix to restart his life over again. I see myself as a Phoenix metaphorically…I have come across many difficult obstacle in my life and I have survived all of them. Much like the Phoenix I hit a low but then I come up from the ashes with a new understanding and appreciation for life and what it has to offer.

So my Mantra of the week is to continue to be a Phoenix and gather all of the life experiences that I can to live a long and love filled life.

Mantra Monday: Routine

Mantra Monday

~ Routine ~

So over the past few months…this has been my routine. Eat, Jazzercise & Sleep.

This week I get to start a new routine of waking up at a normal time and going to be at a normal time. And I get to do that because {drum roll please…} I GOT A JOB!!! HOORAY! I will be starting some contracting work for the Credit Union of Colorado! I am so incredibly excited, they seem like a fantastic team to work with and I can’t wait to start using my brain again! So this week, my Mantra is to start creating a routine for myself and the pups to get used to before I start working full time again. YAY YAY YAY!! I am so excited.

Also, this is one item that I can check off my 2010 Accomplishments list!
1) Get a job

Grandpa’s 92nd birthday

Photobucket

Can you believe it, my Grandpa just turned 92! He is AMAZING!! Since he was born in Poland my family did some research and found this quaint little Polish restaurant up in Westminster. So we all packed in the car and headed up to Cracovia.

Now, I’m not going to lie…Polish food is not my favorite, so I had a hard time deciding what to eat. Grandpa started out with some beet soup {that was BRIGHT pink} and some bread. Then we ordered him the stuffed cabbage—where we later learned that ‘he no much care for cabbage’ but he sure did dig all the meat out of the center. But the ALL time favorite was the Polish beer that he had. He absolutely loved it.

After lunch we headed back to his assisted living center to have cake. Grandpa SURE does love his sweets, all he cared about was eating his cake & ice cream…we kept trying to shove presents in front of him and he just wanted cake.

It was such a great day…Grandpa is such a happy man and so much fun to be around. Here are a couple of videos that I got of him…and don’t be jealous of my singing voice – not everyone can sound as professional as me.

My Dad wants Ice cream…

Happy Birthday song…yes Grandpa is singing Happy Birthday to ME!

Opening presents…

Happy Birthday Grandpa, I love you with all of my heart.
