THANKFUL THURSDAY: Jazzercise

Thankful Thursday

~ Jazzercise ~

Jazzercise has been my saving grace…I’ve been through some rough patches in my life and had I not had something to focus on...I’m not sure what I would’ve done with myself. That being said, when I don’t get to do my regular Jazzercise workouts, I get kind of crabby. So…today, I am thankful for Jazzercise. And I am excited to head off and take a class tonight, sometimes its nice just being a student.

GRATEFUL POSTING: Mt. Dew

~ Mt. Dew ~

Mt Dew Can

Good GOD this has been a long week. I have been totally slammed here at work, and I’ve taught non-stop since Tuesday. My mind & body are exhausted…so when Friday rolled around this morning and my alarm went off at 5:00 AM…I almost killed someone. I was NOT ready to get up. The alarm went off, the entire house hold grumbled and pulled the covers back over our heads (OK technically I pulled the covers back over my head, the dogs just kicked me until I turned the alarm off).

I rolled out of bed, hair sticking straight up and said…thank GOD it is Friday. Got ready for work, made my coffee and headed into work. Through out the day today, I lost productivity…and I HATE that. I started getting irritable, started hating everything…the clothes that I wore today, the water bottle I brought in, my music set for my class tonight….basically I turned into ONE HUGE CRABBY PANDA! *RAWR*
Crabby Panda! RARW! on Twitpic

So, around noon…I cracked open my first Mt. Dew. I don’t normally drink the fully loaded stuff, I’m usually a diet girl, but our soda machine only had full octane. So, I sucked it up and drank a regular Mt. Dew. Whew, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a regular soda like that. It woke me right up. So…today, I am grateful for Mt. Dew. It has kept me moving today! Whoo hoo!

Spaz Moment of the Day: Handheld Weights

Spaz

So today I stopped at the Sports Authority to pick up some new hand held weights for my Southside Jazzercise classes. (I’m not big on community weights, because I am a HUGE germa-phobe.) I picked up 6 pounds, 7 pounds and 8 pounds – totaling weight of 42 pounds (don’t worry, there is a reason I’m telling you this).

weights

I pay for my weights, carry them out to the car and put them on my front seat so they don’t roll around the back. I place my purse on top of them and drive off. As I start driving my seatbelt light starts flashing and dinging at me. Now, any of you that know me…KNOW how obsessive I am about my seatbelt and how the dinging drives me batty. I CAN NOT STAND it. So I feverishly start unbuckling and buckling my seatbelt to get no results…the thing is STILL dinging at me!

My initial thought: “great, I just took my car in for the 20,000 mile check up what did they screw up now”. Then, I realized…Carmen thinks that there is a 50 pound human in my front seat (yes, my purse weighs about 8 pounds—don’t judge). *sigh* I turn bright red from embarrassment and continue to drive back to work. Good thing the AirBags turned on for my weights though…

2011 Tubbs Romp to Stomp

Romp to Stomp

As most of you know…I am a huge advocate for Breast Cancer research and I participate in all of the events that I can here in Denver.

Well, I have once again signed up for my annual tradition of the Tubbs Romp to Stomp out Breast Cancer fundraising event. I love to snowshoe, and it benefits Breast Cancer research…sure why NOT!?!

I always try and gather up some of my friends and head up to Frisco, Colorado and participate in the fun.

Me Romp to Stomp

This year, I am trying to raise some money for the event and I would appreciate your help. You may donate on my Fundraising page at:

MANTRA MONDAY: Stretch

Mantra Monday

~ Stretch ~

OK, I have been bad about stretching after my workouts and then I wonder why I am stiff the next day. *sigh* Although Jazzercise has a stretch routine integrated into the class, it is not enough for me (especially after driving home in bumper to bumper traffic).

Well…as you can see (CLICK HERE to go to JazzerStephanie), I have a VERY full teaching schedule this week, so it is EXTREMELY important that I stretch every night before I go to bed. Not only to help out my muscles but to help relax my mind as well. Stretching is such a soothing feeling, almost as though you are releasing the toxins from the day from your body.

So here’s hoping that I can keep up with the stretching!

What is your Mantra for the week? Join the Mantra Monday’s blog trend…CLICK HERE for more information.

Make it a great week.

THANKFUL THURSDAY: Friends that make me laugh

Thankful Thursday

~ Friends that make me laugh ~

Photobucket

I love to laugh & smile…always have. And I have some of the most amazing friends…no matter where we are or what we are doing; we’re laughing and having a good time. It is SUCH an amazing feeling. Don’t you love it when you just click with people and you feel comfortable and feel like you can take on the world? That’s how I feel with so many of my friends.

Speaking of laughing, I am so excited because this weekend, I am going to see one of my favorite comics with a bunch of my favorite friends! Daniel Tosh is hilarious! If you have not heard of him, you can check him out on Comedy Central’s show Tosh.O. It’s going to be good times, I am so excited.

What makes you laugh?

THANKFUL THURSDAY: Random Acts of Kindness

Thankful Thursday

~ Random Acts of Kindness ~

I am spoiled…I’ll be the first to admit that. Growing up as an only child, I got what I wanted. Not because I whined and carried on (OK, sometimes I did) but just because I was the only one…so Mom & Dad were very generous, and I thank them for that. They instilled a valuable lesson in my head, things do not come free. I have worked hard for everything that I have—so when someone comes around and just buys you something for no reason that is truly amazing to me.

The other day, I was going through the Starbucks drive thru…when I pulled up to pay for my coffee the cashier let me know that the person in front of me paid for my coffee. Wow, really? I have never had that happen before, ever. How amazing is that? So, the next day…when I went through Starbucks, I bought the coffee for the car behind me. I know, not very original—but someone has to appreciate that.

What random acts of kindness have you witnesses?

Enjoy your Thursday!

Happy New Year 2011!

2010 Accomplishments

Happy New Year everyone!

So I have decided to make this a tradition…each year I am going to post up my new year’s ‘Accomplishments’ list. Now, I didn’t meet all of my accomplishments last year…so they have been added to the list for THIS year.

Here they are for 2011, in no particular order:
1) Start running.
2) Run a 5K race.
3) Snow Shoe at least 3 times.
4) Walk the dogs at least once a day.
5) Use 10 pound weights when teaching Jazzercise.
6) Teach 1 ‘Jazzercise-Circuit’ class per month.
7) Learn how to shoot a gun.
8) Start doing Yoga.
9) Every quarter, clean out my closet and bring clothes to the Denver Rescue Mission.
10) Capture one moment of every day using the Project 365 App on my iPhone and post those pictures to Facebook & Twitter.
11) Track what I am eating by using my Twitter Food Journal.

Will you join me on this adventure?

Here are the rules: Copy and paste this to your blog. It can be any 11 things that you've always wanted to accomplish, or said you were going to accomplish but never have. Every time you reach a goal, post it on your Blog.
