~ Massage Therapy ~

Today, Thursday…I am so very thankful for the art of Massage Therapy. In my younger years, I played a lot of organized sports (soccer, field hockey, softball) and I felt like I was always injured or at the very least had very sore muscles.
Well now that I am an adult AND an aerobics instructor, my body sure does hurt at the end of the day. Plus teaching high impact aerobics, I tend to get shin splints a lot (only because I do NOT bring my heels down—that’ll teach me). So as you can imagine, I will jump at any opportunity to get a professional massage. But I am kind of weird about it, as I imagine most people are. I don’t feel entirely comfortable with strangers touching me – let alone manipulating my muscles. I have questions, comments and concerns. Yep, that’s me…ALWAYS asking ‘WHY?’ Ha ha.
So last year when my good friend Julie told me that she was going to school to become a massage therapist I was SO excited. I am completely comfortable with Julie and she is used to my quirkiness and will answer every question that I have.
She just started her own company (Agape Bodywork) and is now taking appointments! She has run a few specials and you can book on her website for additional savings. She is AH-mazing! Seriously. I had my first hot stone massage yesterday and she walked me through the process and the benefits of using stones. She is so patient with me and I love her for that! You should check her out!
Anyway, enough of the shameless plug for Julie – I am truly thankful for the art of massage therapy, it has helped me to continue teaching Jazzercise, something that I love to do.
