THANKFUL THURSDAY: Jelly Belly’s

OK, OK…I admit it, I have a sugar addiction and I am working on it. Ha ha. Last month I went to see a movie at Soutlands Mall and we were a bit early, so we strolled along Main Street and went into some random stores. Before we knew it, I was faced with a Fuzzwig’s Candy factory.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have to have SOMETHING sweet when watching a movie. I’m not a big movie popcorn fan, but I do like the sweets (go figure). So I thought, WHY pay for the high priced candy at the theatre when I can go in here and get what I want for ½ of the price?

So in I went…I had NO idea what I was in for when I walked into this store. Yes, I know…it sounds strange, but I haven’t been into a candy shop since I was a kid! I was walking around the store SO excited seeing all of the candies that I used to enjoy when I was a kid (I probably should’ve had a harness on at this point because I kept getting ‘lost’). Then I walked up to the GLORIOUS wall of Jelly Belly jelly beans, and it sang to me. I LOVED these when I was a kid. I love being able to pick out my favorite kinds and put them all together for a flavor explosion in my mouth.

I spent about 10 minutes carefully selecting my favorite flavors and placing them into a bag. BEST. IDEA. EVER! That movie was great, not only because it had Paul Walker and fast cars…but because I got to enjoy my childhood candy snack. *sigh* Oh how I love Jelly Belly’s.

Of course, I did not finish the bag of beans…so I brought them into work and shared them with my cube-mate. Little did I know, he is a Jelly Belly lover as well. Once I found this out…I thought EXCELLENT, now I have an excuse to go buy more Jelly Belly’s! And, I have. I have a very strange way of eating them…and get made fun of all the time. I am used to it. :-p

Today, we finished off the remaining Jelly Belly’s, and I thought to myself…I am so Thankful to have these wonderful treats during a long work day, it picks up my spirit. I know, lame…but hey, it’s the small things that matter in life.

So today, I am thankful that I had Jelly Belly’s at my desk and that they remind me of being a child!

MANTRA MONDAY: Get back in Shape!

It’s been a while since I have had a consistent workout. I have sporadically been able to go to Jazzercise classes or teach one. But it’s not enough…this girl gets out of shape VERY easily—I think it has something to do with the asthma.

Any who, after some negotiations and schedule changes…I am FINALLY back on track and teaching at least 3 Jazzercise classes a week. Not only will this help my waistline but it will improve my mood. I can’t WAIT!

So starting today, I am on a mission to get back into shape and start enjoying the lovely summer weather.

GRATEFUL POSTING: Birthday Surprises!

Today is my birthday, HOORAY! When I woke up this morning, I was happy to have amazing people in my life and ready to celebrate my birthday this weekend with a little hiking, food and comedy. What more could a girl ask for?

When I got into work today, several co-workers said Happy Birthday to me…which was un-expected but much appreciated. Then my cell phone started blowing up with numerous text messages, voice-mails, Twitter messages, Facebook messages and emails. Wow, does this girl feel spoiled.

Around 1:00 this afternoon is when the big birthday surprises started pouring in. First a dozen cupcakes delivered to me from my absolutely adorable Aunt.

Then immediately following the cupcake delivery was this beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered from my amazing parents! Purple, my favorite!

Then our weekly delivery of cupcakes from Kirby ~ Big Fat Cupcakes’ mobile truck.

So, today … I am grateful for all of the amazing surprises that I have received today. I am truly blessed with amazing people in my life.

THANKFUL THURSDAY: Cartoons

Cartoons aren’t just for kids!! Sometimes, when I’m stressed out or really sick, I like to sit down and watch some cartoons. The senseless humor that goes on in one of those shows is comforting to me. Whenever I am home sick, I make a point to watch SpongeBob Squarepants and I am sure to laugh.

So, today…I was talking to one of my co-workers about the amount of work that we have to do and the movie Despicable Me popped into my head. And then I thought…. OMG, I totally want Minions! How awesome would it be to have minions?!?!

I remember seeing that movie in the theatre with a good friend of mine and I laughed so hard that I cried (and snorted), I was just fascinated with the minions that made me laugh. And you should know by now, this girl LOVES to laugh. So, today…I found this video of the minions and it made me laugh. And for that…I am thankful!
